We present the results of a tomographic
study of surface wave dispersion across South America.
We include below links to graphical images of the group velocity maps.
In each case, images are presented in gif format (for down
loading), and the ascii data files are also available (follow the
link for Group Velocity Maps).
The Data
Files with event - station locations
and group velocity measurements are provided. The data are used for
tomographic inversion to construct group velocity maps. We have also
provided the Path Coverage
information for each period and wave type. These images show the number
of seismic paths crossing a cell of approximately 50,000 km^2 for every
location on the map.
No models are available for distribution
yet. To check on the status and availability of the latest
maps and models, contact Oleg Vdovin at the email address listed above.
